Website statistics with Vepp. How to connect Google Analytics

Connect Vepp and Google Analytics to view key reports directly from the panel. Available for WordPress-based websites. Here is what you need to do:

  • create a Google account,
  • register in Google Analytics,
  • add the website to Google Analytics,
  • press the magic button.

If all pre-conditions are already in place — just press the magic button. If not, go step by step.

Create a Google account unless you already have one

If you already have a Google account linked to Google Ads or your website’s email, use it to register in Google Analytics. It is better to have everything in one place.

If you do not have an account, follow the link and fill out all boxes. Link a phone number and backup email for extra security.

Add your website to Google Analytics

If you do not have an account in Google Analytics, be sure to register and indicate your website during registration.

Follow the link, press Configure free of charge and perform a few simple steps:

  1. Name your account: use the company name rather than domain name; if you connect several websites at a later point, you might get confused.
  2. Specify what you want to measure: website, app, or perhaps both.
  3. Specify website details:
  • domain name;
  • name that you will use to locate the website in Google Analytics; domain name can be used here as well;
  • industry category, important for SEO;
  • time zone: specify the time zone of your customers to be able to analyze their behavior.

Create your Google Analytics account

Press Create, and you are all set, the website has been added to Google Analytics!

If you already have an existing Google Analytics account with other websites, add the new website.

Sign in to your account at Google Analytics. In the bottom left corner, go to Administrator — press Create resource and perform several simple steps:

  1. Specify what you want to measure: website, app, or perhaps both.
  2. Specify website details:
  • domain name;
  • name that you will use to locate the website within Google Analytics; domain name can be used here as well;
  • industry category, important for SEO;
  • time zone: specify the time zone of your customers to be able to analyze their behavior.

Press Create, and you are all set, the website has been added to Google Analytics!

Connect statistics to Vepp

Go back to Vepp, open Statistics tab. Press the magic button Connect statistics and allow Vepp to access Google.

All done! If you already had some statistics for your website, Vepp will connect immediately and start downloading reports into the panel. You will be able to view data over the last 7 days.

If you have just connected Google Analytics to the website, it may take about 2 hours to start collecting data. Once available, they will also be displayed in Vepp:

  • main data will be shown in website dashboard,
  • detailed data will be shown in Statistics tab,
  • use Detailed statistics button to go to Google Analytics.
