Vepp keeps growing: new updates and commercial stage
We haven’t told you about Vepp publicly yet while it was in the alpha stage — we told about it only to our friends and professional community members. But today we have finally announced it to everyone. There is still a lot of features Vepp has to obtain but it is already a full-fledged server control panel.
Vepp will become commercial soon
You’ll be able to buy it from us or from hosting providers, along with a server or even a domain, if a provider sells domains. We are going to sell Vepp for €10/month and €108/year; If you buy it from providers, it’s going to cost you less.
If you already use Vepp, your account will remain active. You will be able to pay for your license and keep using the panel. Alternatively, you can order a server with Vepp from a provider and move your project there.
For the time being, our Vepp works in the promo mode. We will announce the commercial release in advance later.
Last changes in Vepp
There are big development plans for Vepp, and we’re backing up our words with deeds. Recently, we have updated a website card in Vepp.
We added widgets to a website card. Now all the settings are visible and you can act really fast: make a backup, install an SSL-certificate, upload files, and go to WordPress admin panel directly from the card.
See the bar «Website is available»? It’s our new monitoring service. Every hour it automatically checks ICMP connection (ping) and looks at the server response code. It’s useful when you can’t check your website’s availability yourself every hour. There can also be a situation when the website is available on your desktop but other users cannot really access it. Or the other way round. Vepp is going to check availability for you and your users. If the website is inaccessible, you will see a red alarm widget. Soon we’ll add mail notifications too.
Website statistics also appeared in the card — for now, it’s just a cute little image but it’s going to turn into a full-fledged feature by the end of September.
We didn’t change the card alone. We’ve also made it possible to upload your own theme for WordPress — a special button in the theme catalog. Also, we put FTP-connection settings on a visible spot — its own section in the Settings tab.
